I can't beleive that I'm the only one with these errors/bugs?! I have tested EVERY major (and minor) downloading software out there and I think the functionality in IDA is outstanding if it weren't for these re-occurring errors in the last three versions that I've trialed. I'm trialing version 5 now.
An example of an error: "Access violation at address 005DCFBC in module 'ida.exe'. Read of address 00000098."
They all had these strange errors that usually appears during or just after a download is finished. Most of the time the files are ok and I can resume the file after an error but there are also corrupt files.
I'm downloading from https servers mostly and I can't tell if http downloads are working without errors. Maybe I'm the only one downloading from https servers, thats why I haven't seen similiar threads on this forum.
I have four XP computers and I've installed IDA on all of them at different times trying to get it working but that's a no no. I get error windows flying around the desktop like Iowa cows in a twister...
I guess I'm kinda mad because if it wasn't for these errors I would gladly pay for four licenses and getting rid of the annoying Free Download Manager that I'm using now...
Please tell me what's wrong here... |

|

I have a similar problem as timalf with IDA corrupting a downloaded avi.
but have only just installed the trial version today and am doing testing.
This .avi corruption is not new to me as I previously downloaded avi files via ftp and these received similar corruption.
Cause Google Desktop Search!
As I love GDS and the benefits it provides I looked for other down loaders
Flashget - doesn't work with the https site due to certificate issues
DownThemAll - worked well but recent versions have created some troubles downloading and maintaining multiple parts and resumability.
So I'm testing IDA today.
I'm now trying download with the FTP setting of 'Do not use' to see if the same problem occurs or not. |

Failed miserably 3/3 uninstalling and continuing the search for a robust downloader. |
